EMSOL launches crowdfunding campaign to accelerate commercial roll out to meet demand as climate change-related litigation and calls for anti-greenwashing rise worldwide.
EMSOL have launched a Seedrs campaign to generate funding to support the commercial roll-out of their product. EMSOL are asking for £300k via the crowdfunding platform to support business growth which has been further excelled by a worldwide increase in climate change-related litigation and anti-greenwashing claims.
EMSOL are hoping to secure £300k through Seedrs as part of a £730k fundraising round. Funds will be used to incorporate trial feedback from partners such as HS2, Guys and St Thomas’ hospitals, Waitrose & CEVA logistics.
Development will include adding enhanced capabilities to the platform to meet customer demand including net zero focus, more powerful data insights, and further identification of sources of site pollution. Additionally the funds will ensure scalability of deployment and installation, develop a scalable sales & marketing team and protect EMSOL IP.
A report issued by S&P Global on Wednesday 6th October found that:
- – The volume of climate change-related litigation against companies and governments worldwide appears to be growing
- – Greenwashing litigation claims are also rising, which claim that companies’ marketing materials falsely paint a more sustainable picture of an issuer’s climate risks and strategic positioning.
- – Climate change attribution science is strengthening and could increasingly contribute to judgements against heavy emitters.
- – They believe climate related judgments may ultimately have financial and reputational consequences for affected users.
The UK’s Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) has published a ‘Green Claims Code’ and has warned businesses that they have until early 2022 to make sure their environmental claims comply with the law, and that the CMA stands ready to take action against offending organisations.
