EMSOL, a leading provider of targeted environmental monitoring solutions, has just completed its first year partnering with Morgan Sindall, one of the UK’s largest construction and infrastructure companies. This collaboration, which began in the summer of 2023, has focused on enhancing air quality and noise monitoring at a key educational project in East London.
The partnership has focused on implementing EMSOL’s cutting-edge monitoring technology at a significant development in the London Borough of Newham. The initiative demonstrates both companies’ commitment to minimising environmental impact and fostering sustainable construction practices.
Freddie Talberg, CEO of EMSOL, commented: “Our collaboration with Morgan Sindall exemplifies how innovative technology can drive positive change in the construction industry. By providing targeted real-time insights into air quality and noise levels, we’re empowering our partners to make decisions that benefit both the project and the surrounding community.”
The EMSOL system deployed on this project includes state-of-the-art sensors that continuously monitor particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and noise levels. EMSOL is then able to help identify the likely cause of the pollution event – providing actionable insights to the project team.
The project has been extended to ensure an on-going ability to target the causes of pollution at the site. The success of this project demonstrates the potential for wider adoption of advanced environmental monitoring across the construction sector.
EMSOL, winner of the Construction News Award for Innovation of the Year, has worked with a leading constructors such as HS2, Bennett Construction, Quinn London and Vistry Group to improve local air quality.
