Innovation ranking celebrates UK businesses of all sizes creating technology for sustainability and the environment
EMSOL is pleased to reveal that we feature in the EnviroTech 50 innovation ranking for 2025, marking our third consecutive recognition in this prestigious listing.
Readers of online technology publication BusinessCloud and an expert judging panel together decided the 50 most innovative GreenTech and CleanTech companies headquartered in the UK.
EMSOL made the cut with our integrated air quality monitoring platform that combines MCERTS-certified sensors, smart camera analytics, and machine learning-driven insights to enable organisations to identify pollution sources in real-time and take targeted action to reduce emissions.
This third consecutive EnviroTech 50 recognition comes at a pivotal moment for EMSOL. Since our first inclusion in 2023, we have transformed from a UK-focused startup into a multinational environmental technology leader. The past three years have seen remarkable growth: we acquired South Coast Science in 2024, bringing together two pioneers of British air quality monitoring technology, and expanded our operations to serve clients across 13 different markets including construction, healthcare, waste management, and local authorities.
Our client portfolio now spans from NHS hospitals implementing Green Plans to major infrastructure projects like HS2, from London councils tackling urban pollution to international deployments supporting monitoring programmes around the world. This expansion reflects both our technology’s versatility and the urgent global need for actionable environmental monitoring solutions.
The EnviroTech 50 celebrates businesses of all sizes creating original tech solutions for use in green energy, to protect the environment and boost sustainability.
“This year’s EnviroTech 50 recognises companies blazing a trail in emissions – from electric vehicle networks to decarbonising heavy industry – as well as renewable energy innovators, recycling tech firms, those focused on ESG reporting and more,” said Jonathan Symcox, editor of BusinessCloud.
“It is our pleasure to shine a light on 50 amazing innovators from all corners of the UK.”
BusinessCloud called on its readers to vote for companies from the 135-strong shortlist over seven days. A combination of these votes and choices from an expert judging panel determined the top 50.
EMSOL CEO Freddie Talberg commented: “Three consecutive EnviroTech 50 recognitions validate our mission to make pollution visible so it can be controlled. This achievement reflects not just our technology innovation, but our team’s commitment to solving real-world environmental challenges across multiple sectors and continents.”
