Making deliveries in early morning/ late night - Store Manager

  • Goal - Increasing the number of retail units able to receive deliveries early morning/late night without complaints from residents
  • Trigger - Deliveries banned by Environmental Health Officer (EHO)/ Planning Officer or a store Manager when faced by complaints stops a store from having fully stocked shelves at start of day, losing sales and cluttering sales-floor for restocking during trading hours.
  • Primary Actor - Retail Store Manager
  • Stakeholders & Interests - Fleet Logistics Manager, residents, Council EHOs
  • Technology - EMSOL locators and noise sensors
  • Frequency - C.10% of retail outlets face some form of delivery curfew
  • Our noise sensors and vehicle locators installed near the delivery point provide real-world evidence 24/7 that can be used to demonstrate that the store’s deliveries are quiet to local residents and council Environmental Health Officers . It also provides feedback to fleet transport managers supplying the goods that their vehicles and drivers do not cause any loud noises and this increases fuel efficiency by enabling more off-peak deliveries.
